Aikido Dojo Turku

Takemusu Aiki Tomita Academy

Aikido is a Japanese martial art. Aikido training consists of staff and sword techniques (Aiki-Jo, Aiki-Ken) as well as body techniques (Taijutsu). By training individual techniques, we aim to reach an understanding of the method of self-defense. There are no competitions in Aikido.

Beginners first learn the basics of movement and how to fall. A basic set of techniques is practiced first slowly and thoroughly, then with higher tempo. In all our training we emphasize correct posture, body form and attitude as means for understanding the common principle which lies behind all techniques.

In our club we follow the teaching and principles of Takeji Tomita Sensei 8 dan.
